Project with Lothar Kittsein in cooperation with Kreuzung an St. Helena
In 2008, Lothar Kittstein led a workshop attended by 14 female citizens of Bonn, ranging in age from 40 to 84. The participants set themselves the task of writing about their own lives. For the autobiographical writing workshop, the participants met on five dates with the Bonn author, who repeatedly set them quite broad writing tasks. A specific shape was not specified. The texts were read and discussed together.
From the nearly 200 pages of text, Kittstein created a collage similar to a piece of music. In it, the 14 different voices come together to form an imaginary whole: a vivid mosaic of post-war West Germany. Severin von Hoensbroech developed a theatrical realization for this in the Dialograum St. Helena together with the actress Bettina Marugg, the actor Georg Lennarz and a beamer (as a third voice).
