by Andreas Vonder/Frank Heuel
WWW.HOTEL.E was developed on the basis of improvisation. Andreas Vonder wrote the text during the rehearsal process. Here he adopts the multilingualism of hotel guests – German, English and Dutch is spoken. The starting point of WWW.HOTEL.E are the empty spaces in the work of American painter Edward Hopper.
… The ensemble developed the texts together with the Dutch author Andreas Vonder during long improvisations. The texts are micro-stories, broken dialogues, monologue snatches, in which the characters of this closed society, talk past each other – always between banality and existential despair.
Within the helplessness of communicating Andreas Vonder and the six actors found the perfect language. Paradoxically multilingual: English, German, Dutch.
Oh, simply a beautiful and successful attempt to reinvent theater once again.
WWW.HOTEL.E was nominated for Best Newcomer Director in Theater heute 2001
