Ahmet Sami Özbudak graduated from Istanbul University in 2003 with a degree in literature. Since then he has been working as a journalist for various newspapers and magazines. In 1998 he began writing plays. In 2010 he participated in the New Text New Theater Project and wrote the award-winning play „Stain“. In 2011 he was awarded the European Authors‘ Prize at the Heidelberger Stückemarkt 2011 for his play „Die Spur“. In 2014 it was invited by the Theater an der Ruhr and Theater Dortmund. Ahmet Sami Özbudak is continuously present in Istanbul with his project “The Monologue Museum of Balat”.
Frank Heuel and Sami Özbudak developed the concept for „Basecamp TR / DE“, in which he contributed as an author. Most recently he wrote the text for the fringe writers-project „Yel“ and was one of the authores of the international live-writing-project „Outside our doors“.
