Ahmet Sami Özbudak graduated in literature from Istanbul University in 2003 and has since worked as a journalist for various newspapers and magazines. In 1998 he began to write his own plays. In 2010, he participated in the New Text New Theatre Project, where he wrote the award-winning play “Stain.” In 201 1 he was awarded the European Authors’ Prize of the Heidelberg Stückemarkt 201 1 for his play “Die Spur”, which was seen as a guest performance at Theater an der Ruhr and Theater Dortmund in 2014.
With his project “The Monologue Museum of Balat” he is continuously present in Istanbul.
Frank Heuel developed the concept for “Basecamp TR / DE”” together with Sami Özbudak, in which he participated as an author. Most recently he wrote the text for the fringe writers project“Yel” and was one of the authors of the international live writing project “Outside our doors”.
