Outside the doors

With the research “Outside the doors” we reacted to the consequences of the onset of the pandemic, which made normal rehearsal work impossible due to social distancing and travel restrictions and challenged us to realize and review already developed concepts. In view of the third production “Die Flaneure” (The Flaneurs), we embarked on an experimental work phase in search of new forms of material development and presentation, because it was clear to us that our actors* would not be able to travel to European metropolises and stroll around there in the near future. We developed a live-writing project: Bettina Marugg, Laila Nielsen and Manuel Klein went to their doors in Bonn, Leipzig, London and were accompanied by the author Lothar Kittstein via the meeting platform Zoom. We combined a live walk with a live cam with the process of live writing and invited the public to follow us online at selected times.
