Alexander Molchanov

Alexander Molchanov (* 1974 in Russia) graduated as a screenwriter in 2008 from the State Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography WGIK in Moscow. He works as a playwright, screenwriter and lecturer at the Moscow Film School and is the director of the Kino bes plenki (Cinema without Film) project at the Teatr.doc theater. He has written scripts for popular Russian TV series, including SAKHVATTSHIKI (THE TAKERS) and MOSKWA. ZENTRALNY OKRUG (MOSCOW, CENTRUM), an adaptation of the US series PRISON BREAK. His stage plays include SNESHNY GORODOK (SNOW CITY, 2005), DNEWNIK SHAKHIDA (SHAHEED’S DIARY, 2006) and SHERKEVA (VICTIM, 2010). His play UBIZA (MÖRDER, 2009) is a Russian-wide success and has won a number of awards, including the Audience Award at the Wiesbaden Theater Biennale New Plays from Europe 2012.

Alexander Molchanov is one of the authors of the project PEOPLE’S BATTLES.
