Hotel Cairo

HOTEL CAIRO is the next successful collaboration of the fringe ensemble with Lothar Kittstein after Last Days (2007). This second commissioned work is unlike the previous, which was developed as work-in-progress, instead HOTEL CAIRO was completed by the author just before the beginning of rehearsals. The cast had been named before the author developed plot and characters.

The author Lothar Kittstein has fulfilled his second stage play for the fringe ensemble. „Hotel Cairo“ is about politics, ethics, religion and broken love, which successfully celebrated its premiere in the Theater im Ballsaal[…] The actors talk to each other, past each other, and again with another. It is always “before eleven” in a situation that is not clear. „Hotel Cairo“ is grotesque; politics and ethics are successfully linked to a managed net of half-truths, prejudices and selfishness. The play convinces at all levels.
